Day 21: Live eviction and there is a new ruling couple in the house! |
|
Tonight's Big Brother was full of all the excitement that we are always promised. There was last minute campaigning, a bucket full of tears, some wishy-washy answers to questions asked by Julie Chen, and a blowout in the HoH competition.
The night started with a recap of the POV ceremony and a comment from Josh regarding not using the Power Of Veto. His reasoning? It was in his best interest to break up two of the strongest couples in the house. That makes perfect sense! James stated that he has Ryan and Adams votes to kick out Alex and Amanda, so he isn't too worried about the outcome. Alex states that he will not campaign against Matt while Matt says that he won't say anything bad about Alex, but he also won't lay down and allow people to vote him out...may the best man win.
Sunday is a long time away! Don't miss what is happening in the house between now and then! Get the CBS.com live feeds 24/7.
In a quick recap of the week since Amanda fainted and had a seizure due to low blood sure we find out that she has been ordered to eat 5 times a day, and we don't mean eat slop. It seems like Amanda at least is off the slop diet. According to her it is all because of her low blood sugar problems. Her situation seems to have everyone in the house treating her like kid gloves and offering to run around and get her food that she might need. Thankfully it doesn't seem as if she takes them up on it.
Elsewhere Allison watches Matt and Natalie working out and is hit in the face by what a strong couple they are. She realizes this is their best opportunity to get them out of the house and goes to the HoH room to campaign to keep Amanda and Alex in. How does she do it? She tells them that Amanda and Alex have been on slop and are weak while Natalie and Matt are strong. Adam is adamant about voting out Alex. However James starts thinking about putting Operation Condor on hold and going with Operation Throwdown (we think that is what he said, please comment and correct us if we are wrong!) instead. Allison naively thinks that she can convince Ryan to vote her way and get Sharon and Josh on her side. We shall see! In another room Matt is telling Natalie that she has to convince Sharon and Joshua that if they keep them in the house that they will be safe if Matt and Natalie wins HoH. Natalie does her best, but did she succeed?
Back on the live show Julie starts asking the house guests the weekly questions.
Amanda, since coming back to the house have things been different?
Yes, things have been different, Allison and I have gotten closer. Everyone in the house has had a change to sit down with each other and establish a better relationship.
Sheila how are things now between you and Allison?
I think they are OK, but this is a game. I was shocked that things were said behind my back and I confront people right away, but I have learned in this game that you have to keep some things to yourself.
Did the emergency change your perception?
Her emergency did scare me because Alex said she looked really bad I was afraid she wouldn't come back in the game.
James, you didn't hesitate to jump in and help Amanda, what was going through your mind?
I don't know. I was afraid she was going to die. It was scary.
Alex, how did it feel to have your partner return?
It felt great, it was shocking for everyone in the household. My first priority was her. I have to play this game as a couple.
Matt what has life been like without drinking cups and hot water?
It has been miserable. Everyone's personality is different without hot water and because we are drinking out of bowls like dogs. We are going to pull through.
Sheila, how is the slop diet going?
I have been on every diet there is, it is definitely the best diet I have ever been on in my life. I lost 5 pounds. I expected it to taste like oatmeal but it tastes nothing like oatmeal....it is horrible.
After this round of questioning we got to learn a little more about James and Chelsia as well as why they click. James' friends described him as a nut who is unbelievably inspiring and the most honest person they have ever met. Chelsia's friends describe her as kind hearted, caring and compassionate but as a person who knows when to get serious. They said she likes James because he is such a free spirit.
In a clip back in the room the couple discuss what they would do with the money if they won. James would go around the world again on his bike and Chelsia would donate all of hers. Chelsia did tell James to go around the world on his bike and she would follow. It sounds like there might be some real love going on in the house.
In the HoH bedroom Julie asks the couple some questions.
James, you promised Matt and Natalie that you wouldn't put them up, why would you promise if you might change your mind?
I didn't think I would get HoH so I wanted to make sure I wouldn't get put on the block if he won HoH, I knew Alex and Matt had a thing together and if I didn't put one up then they would try to take the other off the block.
What was your strategy in blindsiding Matt and Natalie at the nomination ceremony?
I didn't want to be vocal. I didn't want them to have a chance to do anything behind my back. I just wanted to be upfront.
Chelsia, do you have any regrets?
No regrets, but I did wonder what we did. It makes it harder for other house guests to trust us.
James, you have enjoyed freedom of bicycling around the world, what is it like being stuck in the house with all these people?
I hate these people. These are the type of people I am against...very materialistic, just here for the prize money. They forgot about finding themselves.
So what do you want the money for?
Inspire people to bicycle around the world, spend time with friends and take off again.
Chelsia, you are a small town girl, why do you think you have connected so well with someone who seems so different from you?
I am a girly girl but I am very laid back and open minded, I can sit back and have a beer with the guys.
We got a little insight into what each couple were thinking in the pre-eliminate diary room visit that they made. As always we saw a glimpse at what the couples were thinking but we were left guessing.
Sheila stated that she likes Alex, while Adam said that Matt was their closest ally.
Josh thought that Amanda and Alex should go because Amanda hated him for what he said and he knew she would just be trying to get him out of the house. Sharon thought that Matt and Natalie were starting to turn on them and that they should go. I swear I heard him whisper to Sharon though as they left, "What have we done?"
Allison stated that Matt and Natalie never did anything to help them while Ryan pointed out that Alex and Amanda had it out for them from day one. Their decision seems pretty obvious.
In the end Alex and Amanda were voted out 3-0. It looks like making a whole house feel sorry for you was still not enough to get a pity vote and a chance to stay in the house.
Amanda started crying and they made their way out the door. Even after they left Josh seemed to be second guessing his and Sharon's decision. I wonder if it will come back and bite them in the ass.
Alex and Amanda met with Julie to discuss their game play and evictions.
Alex, you were very vocal with Amanda saying she was largely to blame for being nominated. Is it fair to say that you take more of the blame for eviction since you chose not to campaign?
Yes I do. In this game being true and being real means nothing. I don't believe people when they say they would have kept me if I campaigned. I don't think campaigning would have helped me....I am sticking with Amanda no matter what. I said what I said. She might be why I went up there but I am the reason I went home.
Amanda, we know and the live feed viewers know that you campaigning hard, working double time, did you respect Alex's decision not to campaign?
I tried hard to get Alex to campaign because I thought it would help us but he thought he shouldn't be and that by not campaigning it would show that he stayed true to his word. Which obviously your word means nothing.
Alex, initially you were very attracted to Amanda...
She is a beautiful woman.
Recently things changed. Do you think emotions got in the way of playing this game?
No, after we had our misfortune. I told her through thick and thin we will be here for each other.
In the goodbye messages to Amanda and Alex, Allison decided to take one final jab and tell the pair that they never took the time to get to know her and that they hurt her feelings. Ryan reminded them that they had it out for them in the beginning and that he doesn't feel back about them going home. Natalie tells Amanda that she is going to miss her and that she is her closest friend, while Matt vows to Alex to get James and Chelsia out of the house.
Next came the HoH competition. Another quiz game pitted the ladies and then the men against each other as they answered questions about the love quotes on the walls around the house. The house guests would be given a quote and if the first person to buzz in had the correct answer they would be able to knock someone else out of the game. If they got it wrong they would be knocked out of the game.
As the ladies went head to head Sharon went 3 and 0 and one by one eliminated Allison, Sheila and then Natalie. When the men met Ryan attempted to answer the first question but got it wrong knocking him out of the competition. The next two questions Josh immediately answered correctly knocking out Matt and then Adam. Because Josh and Sharon had both won and were part of the same team they did not have to face off, but instead got the title of HoH. Sharon and Josh were obviously thrilled, as were Chelsia and James...however not many people in the house other than the four were too excited about the new positions.
Back in the living room Sharon told Julie that they had decided to go around and memorize the quotes and that obviously it had paid off. When asked by Julie what they were most excited about in the HoH room both Josh and Sharon said seeing pictures of their family and friends. Nothing too original.
At the end of the show Julie gave us all a sneak peak at next weeks eviction twist saying that, "The evicted couple will get a surprise that no one will see coming and a new chapter will begin for this season of Big Brother." What can it be? Could be that they get to come back in the house but people are already guessing that and have been for weeks now so it seems pretty obvious. I vote for something more along the lines of getting to come back in the house AND mix up the couples creating even more drama for the house guests. What do you think?
