Big Brother 8 - September 11th Re-Cap
sept11a

Not much to report here, dear readers - the Final Three is exactly who 99.9% (who am I kidding? 100%!!) of the population thought it was going to be, and all of the House Guests performed just as they have throughout the season.  To see what I am talking about, read on. ;)

My, my, my - isn't Julie looking all smart in her pinstriped business suit? Obviously, this is an important episode, because she pulled out all of the no-nonsense fashion stops.  I don't even think I heard her utter a "But First" tonight, either. Damn, girl, let's get to it.

We're taken to Zach's nomination ceremony and get the reactions of Dick and Daniele: basically, both of them are pissed that he went back on his word to them (seriously, though - can you blame him? And, seriously... like they didn't JUST do the same thing to Eric and Jessica! Also... uh... does it REALLY matter who he nominated? It's up to the Veto winner, anyways, to determine who is going home! HoH just means safety and a guaranteed spot in the Final Three.)

Dick and Daniele also think Zach's speech was a load of crap, and fiercely doubt his sudden renewal of faith thanks to Jameka.  I have to admit, it was probably one of the most painful things I've had to watch this season... AWK-WAAAARD.  In the Diary Room, Zach emphasizes the importance of winning the Veto.

Back in the kitchen, Zach / Dick / Daniele talk about Zach's chances of making it all the way.  Dick does the usual trash-talk routine, telling Zach that he doesn't have a hope in hell against himself and Daniele, and even if he DOES make it to the Final 2, the jury is on the Donatos' side.  Zach just puts his head down, mutters "we'll see", then heads up to the HoH room.  In the Diary Room, he says that he would love to see Dick lose by his hand.

And then - FINALLY! - we're allowed to see what the Jury has been up to in sequester.  A lot of people have been ticked off that we haven't had a chance to see into the sequester house this season, but I kind of like it.  To be honest, I have always found that to be yet another fluff piece that detracts from the game.  Watching bitter ex-House Guests yell at the television while the remaining ones fight it out for PoV is obnoxious and boring.

Dustin arrives at the sequester house and it is gorgeous, complete with an outdoor pool (with waterslide!) and HUGE rooms.  He's glad to have a week to himself in peace to regroup, and says that he can't wait to see Eric arrive.

Next to arrive is Jen. She looks really good, and she and Dustin agree to put aside their differences and enjoy each others' company.  They play pool together and hang out in their pyjamas and play cards.  Dustin asks her if she misses being in the House, and non-committal Jen - true to form - smiles vacantly and says, "Nope!"

Jen and Dustin are shocked to see Amber come in next - she and Dustin hug and do the fake "OH MY GOD GIRL I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S YOU!" routine.  The three pop some champagne and toast... Amber hopes one of the "Bad People" comes in next.  Amber, you're... just... ya.

Jessica is next, and Amber is secretly glad to see her get what she deserves.  Moments later, Eric arrives and says "Room for one more?"  Everyone is shocked to see him arrive so quickly, and he runs straight to Jessica and they hold each other.  He says in a private interview session that he can't wait to tell everyone about his role as America's Player.

The sequestered jury watches a DVD that Eric brings, and they see Zach's HoH win.  Dustin is reeling and says, "Remember how we always joked about him making it to the Final 4?"  The DVD ends, and Jen says, "Well - that was fun."  Haha... I kinda miss Jen.

Before the PoV competition, Daniele is feeling nervous and Dick psyches her up by telling her that she's a dominator, and has this in the bag.  She doubts herself and says that she has also lost some competitions.  Upstairs, Zach and Jameka pray while monks chant in the background.  Zach's prayer is kind of lame, and Jameka's asks for angels to come from Heaven to help them defeat Evil.  Damn. Dramatic.  Jameka also drills Zach about important numbers, dates, wins & losses, etc.

The competition is a mental one - the House Guests have a row of cards with statements such as "won HoH only once", "was on slop for 2 weeks", etc. and have to place a House Guests picture between the two statements that apply to him or her.  They then spin a wheel with faces on it so that a black arrow that says "FACE" points to the House Guest they chose.  This corresponds to a colored arrow that is pointing to a number and placed below the face on the board.  Once all of the faces are lined up correctly and the wheel has been turned, the numbers will line up to reveal how many seconds they have been in the Big Brother House.

Dick almost gets it but is off by ONE face... Jameka and Zach slowly try to figure it out (Zach admits to not even understanding the game until halfway through! LOL!)... and, of course, Daniele dominates and WINS THE POV!  She rips around the backyard, screaming like she is on fire, and hugs Dick, who throws things around and screams "FINAL 3 BITCH!" to Zach repeatedly.

So - Jameka loses with grace again, Zach has a DUHHHHH moment, Daniele wins her 5th veto (tying Janelle from BB6 & 7, by the way!), and Dick is the worst winner on Earth.

The only real surprise comes when the PoV ceremony takes place.  Instead of taking herself off the block, Daniele returns the favor to her father and removes Dick.  Dick is legitimately touched and surprised, and votes to evict Jameka, who gives hugs all around and leaves.
